River City Truck Parts is a family business founded by Derek’s father in 1987. Derek has more than 24 years full-time at the company where he has worked in all areas of the business. Derek’s wife Stacey is a major part of the team and holds the role of Controller. She has over 15 years corporate experience particularly in the metal recycling industry. Derek’s brother Daniel is the Vice President, he also grew up in the industry and is a crucial part of the team.
In this leadership role, he has established business practices, developed and implemented policies and procedures throughout the company, influenced the company culture, and continues to help pursue markets and relationships that grow the company. Derek’s goal within the industry is to be a reliable trusted leader in the transportation industry. When asked about this goal Derek replied, “We want to make it easy for Remanufacturing and Rebuilding companies, Dealer groups and Owner operators to find parts they need in order to fulfill their customers’ demands. We want to be the “Go to” company for all Heavy-duty core related needs. We want to make cores easy, regardless the size of the order.”
Derek’s favorite things about working at River City Truck Parts are working with his family daily, working on continuous improvement and being intentional for results, and building lasting relationships with his team and their customers.
Outside of work Derek enjoys spending time with my family and two children at the lake, camping, and other outdoor activities. He also enjoy Frisbee golf and traveling

Leadership Role:
Derek’s leadership role includes growing and developing the team, making sure the focus is on excellence and continuous learning. Derek believes it is important for the sustainability of the company to be conscious of the ever-changing transportation industry in order to successfully lead the company. He also believes in keeping his vision clear so the team knows WHY they do he things they do.

Improve the process of sourcing truck parts and cores so it is easy and available to everyone regardless of the size of the company or their needs.
