Team Member Spotlight – Shaun Adams

River City Truck Parts • March 8, 2021

Shaun has been part of the River City Truck Parts team for over 15 years. He began working with River City right out of high school for a few years. After a short stint at a larger, more corporate type organization, he returned to River City where he specializes in heavy duty truck engines and parts.

Shaun has a passion for engines and for helping people. That combination has been a great fit for serving our customers at River City Truck Parts.

Derek McWhorter (President), says – “Shaun has been a dedicated member of our team and it has been an honor working with him through the years. Shaun helps us advance our inventory and parts knowledge daily and he always has our customers’ best interest in mind. I am excited to see what the future holds for us with him on our team.”

Here are some questions that we asked Shaun:

What do you like most about your current role with River City Truck Parts?

I love working with engines and the technologies in the industry are everchanging. I get to continue learning about all the moving parts that make them perform at their best. It’s also a great feeling to know you’ve helped someone get back on the road after an engine failure or breakdown.

What do you like about the River City Truck Parts leadership?

I’ve known the McWhorter family since I was very young. They are great people that truly care about the team on both a professional and personal level. I spent a few years working for a larger organization where I felt like another cog in the machine. That experience allows me to appreciate the River City leadership even that much more.

What is the most challenging thing about your job?

Staying on top of the new technologies is challenging. It’s a good challenge because, as I said before, I really enjoy learning about engines, parts, and high-performance motors.

What do you like to do when you’re not at work?

I enjoy spending time with my family. We like going to the lake and doing other outdoor activities. I also like driving and working on my 2001 Ford Mustang Bullitt.

Are you originally from the Louisville, Kentucky area?

Yes, I really like living in Louisville. I have lived here all my life in the Fern Creek and J-Town areas.
