Looking to gain experience working with diesel engines and parts?  This opportunity could be for you. River City Truck Parts, Inc. is currently seeking team members that are interested in the trucking industry, reliable, and eager to learn.  

This person will gain hands-on experience working with heavy-duty diesel truck engines and parts and learn about the heavy-duty transportation industry.  They will contribute to the growth and success of the company and gain experience by working in various departments such as Engine Disassembly, Order Pulling and Packing, Receiving and Stocking, and or Scrap Sorting and Torching.

New team members will be assigned to departments based on demand and situation.

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes

  • Must be team oriented, reliable, and flexible to move/train within departments  
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Basic math skills
  • The ability to frequently lift and/or move items weighing up to 75 pounds
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with forklift, welding, torching, truck/auto maintenance preferred but not required 
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus but not required  
  • Basic computer skills are required

Inventory Control Manager

Looking to gain experience working with Diesel Engines or mechanic field? This opportunity could be for you! We have over 17 acres of used heavy truck parts inventory, and we are a high-volume supplier within our industry.  We are looking for someone to oversee and direct our efforts to organize and control inventory.

Core Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight, direction, and accountability to all Inventory Control Processes
  • Supervise, direct, and implement strategies to meet the organizational needs in accordance with the cultural philosophy of River City Truck Parts
  • Responsible for leading overall inventory control and accuracy  
  • This position must evaluate inventory needs. This will be accomplished by conducting daily inventory analysis, solving problems, and developing control procedures throughout the organization. 
  • Collaborate with all departments and ensure procedures are clear and that all teammates adhere to established company policy and procedures

– Daily responsibilities will include: 

  1. Day to day inventory management and leading the Inventory Control Team in performance of their duties, including overall direction, load priority, project priority, etc.  
  2. Actively study current inventory layout, systems, and processes.  Diagnose, plan, develop strategies, and fix issues using Receiving and Inventory Control teams.  
  3. Understand and update current inventory procedures.  Perform regular training sessions with various departments to ensure companywide staff is trained and updated on the most current procedures.  
  4. Manage vendor cores and ensure they are accounted for and returned in a timely manner. This includes working with accounting to determine what cores are owed back. 
  5. Ensure that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhere to approved budgets.
  6. Develop Lean Manufacturing Practices and utilizing Kaizen methods of inventory control.

Inventory Control Manager currently reports to Vice President.  Extensive knowledge of department processes is a must.  This position typically requires 3 years’ experience in the related area as an individual contributor. A bachelor’s degree is recommended for this position.  1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.
